Steve Albini on the Music Industry...
« Thread Started on Jun 1, 2006, 10:07pm »

I thought this article was a great insight into something that, anyone who has read about big record companies, suspected but could never get our heads around how bands are ripped off. Steve albini has done us a great service by cluing us in to how companies work so we can avoid getting ripped off.

I have always believed (mainly from reading articles like this) that the best way to make a career out of our music is by gigging A LOT and selling cds at gigs and I think this article has confirmed this for me.

If you haven't read the article you can find it here - http://www.irishbandslist.com/advice_musicindustry.html

Post a comment, after you read it, with our thoughts on the article (if you want ;D ).
